Two Coronation Street icons have been arrested in tonight’s episode after being reported to police by loved ones. DC Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) is on the hunt for the arsonist who set fire to the Platt’s house at the beginning of this week, and it seems that there are several locals in the frame. After receiving a visit from David Platt’s (Jack P Shepherd) dodgy prison buddy Andy, Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) grew suspicious, and soon shared her concerns with brother Nick Tilsley (Ben Price).

When they confronted David with the fact that Andy had served time for insurance fraud and that that, paired with his fire-starting search history, didn’t look good, David protested his innocence. However, with David unable to say what he was really up to on the night of the fire, Nick took matters into his own hands and reported his brother to the police. At the hospital, Shona Platt (Julia Goulding) had caught wind of the accusations flying around, and demanded the truth from David.

Unable to reveal where he’d really been on the night of the fire, David urged Kit to call Andy, insisting he’d be able to give him an alibi. However, Andy claimed not to have seen David at all that day, dropping him right in it and causing Kit to place David under arrest. David isn’t the only one in the frame for arson though, as Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) made some confessions of her own. Want to be the first to hear shocking EastEnders spoilers?
