UFC legend Don Frye has admitted that Jake Paul's showdown with former heavyweight world champion Mike Tyson made him want to 'vomit.'. Last year, the boxing community were left stunned when Tyson confirmed his plans to return to the professional ring. His last official outing prior to the dust-up with Paul took place back in 2005 - when he suffered a defeat to former Irish boxer Kevin McBride. He did, however, take part in an exhibition bout against Roy Jones Jr back in 2020.

While many were fearing for Tyson's health ahead of the contest, the boxing legend uploaded several clips of his preparations for the clash - which seemed to get the world talking, with fans believing he could roll back the years. Unfortunately, his age showed on fight night, and it was evident the 58-year-old had nothing left to offer after the second round.

Despite failing to get a knockout finish, Paul would go on to get his hand raised via unanimous decision in Texas. Following the main event in November, key figures within the combat sports community were quick to slam the event. Two months on from the controversial showdown, people are still criticising the fight and wondering why it ever took place.

Speaking to Gary Goodridge about the clash, Frye said. “I tell you what buddy, that (fight) made me want to vomit. I was so disgusted with that I had to go home and put in Tommy Hearns and Sugar Ray Robinson and Sugar Ray Leonard and Jake Lamotta, Rocky Marciano I had to watch some real fighters because if I didn’t I’d never watch another boxing match again. That was a fraud.".
