UK weather: Met Office warns of plunging temperatures and snow after bone-chilling -8C weekend THE Met Office has warned of plunging temperatures and snow after a bone-chilling -8.6C over the weekend.
The Met Office's five-day forecast says this evening's forecast sees "further outbreaks of rain, sleet and hill snow across central and eastern parts".
The UKHSA issued four yellow cold health alerts for the North East, North West, South East, and Yorkshire and The Humber.
In a post on X on Thursday, the Met Office said: "An easterly wind will develop over the coming days but it wont be as cold as the one in 2018 which brought the Beast from the East.".
Mr Vautrey added that there will be "patchy frost overnight" in parts of the UK, while tomorrow is expected to see "longer spells of rain in the south east".
