US fighter jet issues major emergency in mid-air over UK before disappearing from FlightRadar24 A pilot flying a US fighter jet over British air space declared an emergency, before seemingly managing to land.
The advanced stealth fighter jets boast Active Electronically Scanned Arrays radar, Distributed Aperture System, Electro Optical Targeting System and Helmet Mounted Display System, giving its pilots the advantage in the skies.
Simple Flying said: “Squawk codes are four-digit codes that are used for communication between the aircraft during flight and the air traffic control (ATC) personnel.
Tracking site Flight Radar 24 said the aircraft squawked a 7700 code, indicating an emergency onboard.
AirNavRadar said the F35LTNG made its way from the Llanberis area, performed a loop around Caernarfon and the Menai Bridge, then flew south across Eryri National Park.
