U.S. envoy Shea, meanwhile, said multiple previous U.N. resolutions condemning Russia and demanding the withdrawal of Russian troops "have failed to stop the war," which "has now dragged on for far too long and at far too terrible a cost to the people in Ukraine and Russia and beyond.".
"As we mark three years of this devastation - Russia's full invasion against Ukraine - we call on all nations to stand firm and to take - the side of the Charter, the side of humanity and the side of just and lasting peace, peace through strength," she said.

Democrats in the US accused the Trump administration of betraying Ukraine after it voted against the UN resolution condemning Russian aggression and demanding the immediate withdrawal of its forces.
