Volodymyr Zelensky pleads with Oleksandr Usyk over Tyson Fury fight due to UK missile fears

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has reached out to Oleksandr Usyk ahead of his heavyweight title rematch against Tyson Fury, jokingly expressing concern over missile threats. The Ukrainian boxer is set to defend his titles against 'The Gypsy King' this Saturday, following their initial bout in May where Usyk emerged victorious via a split decision in Saudi Arabia. This marked the first defeat in Fury's professional career.
Usyk's rise in the heavyweight division has coincided with his homeland's fight for sovereignty, following Russia's invasion in February 2022. Ukraine has received support from allies including Great Britain and the United States, who have supplied missiles to the Eastern European nation. The US-made ATACMS missiles and British Storm Shadow rockets have been deployed within Russia.
The aid from these allies, particularly the UK due to Usyk's upcoming match against British fighter Fury, was a topic of conversation during a video call between Zelensky and Usyk. During the call, Zelensky told Usyk: "In any case, we are all rooting for you.
"You know how much everyone wants a victory for Ukraine. Every one of your victories lifts our spirits and inspires Ukrainians. Everyone is a huge fan of your talent, courage, strength and success. We're all wishing you, absolutely every Ukrainian is on your side".
