Tasha Ghouri shared a heartwarming video to her Instagram on Sunday as she surprised her old primary school teacher. The Strictly Come Dancing star, 26, posted a black and white clip of her stood outside her former teacher's home with a large bouquet of flowers before knocking on the door.
The pair were then reunited and Tasha was visibly emotional at the meeting and shared a hug before going inside. And the former Love Island star explained that the gesture was so important to her because Mary-Anne Aitken had helped her though her early education and taught her British Sign language after she had been fitted with a cochlear implant at the age of five.
Tasha added that she wouldn't be where she is today without her and added that she had 'left a huge footprint on my heart'. In the caption to the adorable video she wrote: ' I have to say the biggest thank you to @maryanne.aitken.9 when I was young back in primary school she was my carer at school and home, she became a family friend.
'Taught british sign language to me, my family and friends. She was by my side the whole time. 'She even reminded me today I used to give up my play time in primary school to work on my BSL and speech, that I worked twice as harder to get to where I am now, but she was a huge part of my life that got me to where I am today & I can’t thank her enough.
