A new documentary series is set to chronicle the rise and fall of one of the biggest bands of the late 1990s and early 2000s: Boyzone. The three-part series, Boyzone: No Matter What, features interviews with all four of the band’s remaining members to tell the story of their meteoric success and subsequent split.

Speaking to Good Morning Britain’s Richard Arnold on Tuesday, lead singer Ronan Keating said reliving the band’s early years of fame for the documentary left him “hurt”. “I was on the floor, I was a mess, I was an emotional mess. I watched it again, I guess I looked at it from a different point of view,” the 47-year-old, who enjoyed a successful career after the band’s disbandment, said.

“It’s hard to look at yourself in a negative point of view because you think you’re perfect,” Keating said of the past tensions between the band’s members. “You think that all the things you do, I was right and he was wrong. You’re only 17/18, you’re going to make mistakes.”.

What can viewers expect to see in the series and where and when can they watch it?. Sky says the documentary will reveal the truth of “what really happened” behind the scenes during the band’s heyday between 1993 and 2000 and 2007 and 2019. This includes the “conflict, rivalry, betrayal and tragedy” that led to their falling apart.

“I find it very upsetting. I still haven’t come to terms with the loss of Steo, none of us have,” Keating told RTÉ’s Radio 1. “The injustice that happened at that time, it’s left me bitter. I miss him still. It’s unfair the hurt, the pain that was caused.”.
