Black Ops 6 is staging a crossover with Netflix’s Squid Game this week, featuring modes and cosmetics inspired by the series. Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6 is one of the best received entries both critically and commercially, with the game becoming the fastest selling Call Of Duty ever.
Developed by Treyarch and Raven Software, the latest instalment boasts new movement mechanics and a return to the classic prestige system. At last month’s The Game Awards, Black Ops 6 even landed four nominations. After previous games featured crossovers with shows like The Boys and The Walking Dead, Netflix’s Squid Game is the latest series to enter the world of Call Of Duty.
The Black Ops 6 Squid Game event begins Friday, January 3 at 6pm GMT in the UK across Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and PC. This translates to 10am PT/1pm ET in the US. The Squid Game crossover will last for three weeks in total, concluding on Friday, January 24 at 6pm GMT in the UK and 10am PT in the US.
Various limited-time modes will be available across Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6 multiplayer, Zombies, and Warzone for the event. In multiplayer, there is a spin on the show’s Red Light, Green Light game with the giant animatronic Young-Hee doll. Players have to survive three two-minute rounds in the Red Card Stadium, where you try to eliminate other players when Young-Hee shouts ‘Green Light’, and stop any movement on ‘Red Light’ or be killed instantly.
