Farmers from across the UK are starting to gather in Whitehall on Monday (February 10) to protest against Labour's changes to inheritance tax for agricultural businesses.
The autumn budget delivered by Chancellor Rachel Reeves extends inheritance tax (IHT) to agricultural land, prompting criticism from farmers.
Changes to the tax laws will see a 20 per cent inheritance tax rate on farms worth more than £1 million.
The tractor rally, organised by Save British Farming, will be held outside Parliament after Reform UK leader Nigel Farage addressed farmers making a pit stop on their way into the capital.
Parliament is due to debate the petition – which has warned that the changes coming into force could “devastate farms nationwide, forcing families to sell land and assets just to stay on their property” – on Monday.
