MICHAEL VAN GERWEN has decided to swap his iconic green shirt to black and gold as looks to win £100k in the PDC World Masters. The Dutch darting icon, also known as "The Green Machine," has dropped the green as he heads to Milton Keynes. Michal van Gerwen made the final of the World Masters last year, but was beaten by home hero Stephen Bunting. Bunting himself also went far in the PDC World Darts Championship, but like van Gerwen, was beaten by eventual winner Luke Littler.

The winner of the tournament will pocket £100k, with second place taking home £50k, and everyone in the first round picking up £10k. MvG will have a bye into the first round as world no.3, and will take to the oche for the first time on Friday night. This tournament is sponsored by Winmau, as is van Gerwen, who he has been sponsored by for five years. To celebrate five years with the brand, van Gerwen is switching from his iconic green shirt to black and gold.
The 35-year-old will also be switching his darts, swapping out his usual 23 gram Winmau set for a slighlty heavier special edition set. The Masters first round will kick off on Thursday, January 30, with preliminary qualifying round having taken place on Wednesday, January 29. The main tournament consists of a first and second round, followed by quarter-finals, semi-finals and a final. The first round will take place over two days, Thursday, January 30 and Friday, January 31.
The second round will be on Saturday, February 1. The quarter-finals, semi-finals and final will all take place on the same day, Sunday, February 2.
