THIS is the dramatic moment a driver smashed their vehicle through a Sports Direct store before crashing into a double-decker bus. The terrifying scene was caught on camera next to the Westgate Building in Bath, Somerset before cops and paramedics swooped in at around 2pm on Friday.

The wild footage shows the vehicle halfway inside the store before erratically accelerating back out onto the road. The motorist is then seen smashing the passenger door of a parked Mini and skimming another parked car before smashing into the blue bus around 30 meters up the street.

Shocked onlookers were heard shrieking during the horror ordeal. Someone who appeared to be a security guard at a store on the street then frantically urged pedestrians to "get inside" for their safety. Another stunned onlooker can be heard screaming "What the f*** are you doing?" amidst the mayhem.

The driver was rushed to hospital but a spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said no one is though to have sustained serious injuries at the scene. "We were called at 2.01pm to reports a car had collided with a bus, two parked vehicles and a building in Westgate Buildings in Bath," A spokesperson said.

“Officers attended alongside the ambulance service. "A man was taken to hospital but no one is believed to have suffered any serious injuries. "The road was briefly closed but has since reopened.”. A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) told The Sun: "We were called at 14:02hrs on Friday 17 January to an incident in Bath.
