Footage has emerged of what appears to be a 'UFO' hovering in the skies over New Jersey before suddenly accelerating away, leaving onlookers lost for words. In a short 13 second clip posted to social media, a white light blinks in the sky before suddenly vanishing.

In the footage, which was shot on Sunday night close near Atlantic City, family members are heard discussing what they are witnessing before the object suddenly disappears. 'It just vanished!' one said. 'I just watched it through the telescope.'. The footage was sent to Tim Janicki by a friend.

'I was starting to lose interest in these #drones #orbs until I received this video from our friends who went out tonight down by the bay. I don't trust random videos I see on X… but this is 100% real (wait till 4 sec mark),' he wrote. The footage generated some comments online, many agreeing that what the family witnessed was extremely unusual.

The video is the most recent in a long line of mysterious drone sightings that have been reported flying over New Jersey and across the eastern U.S., sparking speculation and concern over where they came from and why. 'You can see it didn't just disappear but took off with incredible speed, there's a small flash of light to the left as it leaves. Humans can't produce the energy required to go that fast, especially from standstill,' wrote one.
