Eight players remain as the World Darts Championship returns at the start of 2025 for the quarter-final stage at Alexandra Palace. The likes of defending champion Luke Humphries, two-time champ Gary Anderson and former winners Michael Smith and Rob Cross have all seen their campaigns come to an end already.
Pre-tournament favourite Luke Littler is still going strong and looking good to become the youngest ever world champion at just 17 years old. However, challenges remain in his path, starting with Nathan Aspinall in the last eight on New Year’s Day. There are other big fish still swimming in the Ally Pally pond too, with former champions Michael van Gerwen, Peter Wright and Gerwyn Price all still alive in the competition.
Stephen Bunting, Chris Dobey and Callan Rydz complete the quarter-final line-up after impressive runs in north London so far. The remaining players know they are just three wins away from the £500,000 top prize, lifting the Sid Waddell Trophy and being crowned world champion.
As ever, Sky Sports are showing all the action from Alexandra Palace, which started on 15 December and runs through to the final on 3 January. Sunday December 15. 3x First Round, 1x Second Round. Thibault Tricole 3-1 Joe Comito (R1) (3-1, 3-2, 2-3, 3-2) (R1).
