Yearly water bills to rise by average £123 from April 1 Households in England and Wales will see an average £123 or 26% increase to their yearly water bill from April 1, final figures show.

The Consumer Council for Water (CCW) said stronger and fairer support was urgently needed to protect struggling households from the largest rise in water bills since the privatisation of the water industry 36 years ago.

The rise, confirmed by industry body Water UK, will take the average water and wastewater bill from £480 to £603 for the next year alone.

The increase will see the average yearly Southern Water bill reach £703.
