TikTokker José Pastor posted a scathing video to his almost one million followers after finding out his mother was trapped inside the Real Plaza.
More than 300 shoppers were inside the centre when the roof suddenly came down and fear for the survivors is growing the longer it takes to pull them out.
While the exact reason for the collapse is under investigation, some have speculated it could have crashed down due to water overload following heavy rain on Peru’s northern coast.
