Zara McDermott reportedly split from Sam Thompson weeks ago and has moved out of their home. What's more, following a quiet New Year's Eve at home with her beloved cats, it has now been revealed that the 28-year-old Love Island star has secretly jetted over to Paris for the New Year, to be away from speculation about her relationship with I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! winner Sam, 32. It was reported earlier this week that the couple had gone their separate ways after five years together.
Zara let fans know she was having a quite night in on New Year's Eve as the self-confessed 'crazy cat lady' posted a photo of one her feline friends with wishes of a 'Happy New Year' to her followers. The Sun has now reported that Zara flew over to Paris shortly after to have some time following the shock split.
A source told the publication: "It's been a tough time for Zara. The trip to Paris just helped her get away from it all. Zara just wants to try to focus on work and get herself together. They split some time before it officially emerged and she is now living apart from him.".
The Mirror has contacted her representatives for comment. The split was revealed when a source told the MailOnline: "Sam and Zara have ended their relationship. It's been an incredibly difficult decision for them to part ways, they still care and have a lot of love for each other.".
Neither Sam nor Zara have yet spoken out about the claims, but the former Made in Chelsea star took to his Instagram Stories during a morning walk on New Year's Day to share his excitement over 2025. "New year! 2025 baby come on let's have it! I can't wait. The New year is going to be amazing and you're going to have the best year ever. And you know I'm always right," said Sam before appearing to kiss his camera.
