ZOE Ball has celebrated her end of her time on BBC Radio 2 as she enjoyed a festive jaunt to New York City. Zoe, 54, joined son Woody and her daughter Nellie as they enjoyed a day of ice skating and exploring the city. Zoe, who recently left her role as the lead presenter BBC Radio 2 Breakfast, beamed with happiness as she held onto her daughter;s hand on the ice.
Son Woody was more confident as he skated on ahead and took a selfie with his family members behind him. Woody has been excited for his family to join him out in New York, as he shared an update on Instagram before their arrival. First he exclaimed: "My mum and sister just landed.".
Next, he posted a picture gazing up to the sky with the words "It's snowing.". He followed that with a picture of Zoe in bed, with his sister also in the frame, captioned "Family safe and sound.". The trip marks the start of a new era for Zoe, as she no longer faces early morning wake ups to be on air for the radio.
The broadcaster signed off from her final BBC radio 2 show and bid an emotional final farewell to her devoted listeners earlier this week. The final show saw Zoe getting tearful, especially as she received a special message from son Woody. His message to his mum read: "Hey mum, you've done such an amazing job on the Breakfast Show and I just wanted to thank you for making everyone's mornings a bit more magic.
