Abbey Clancy has revealed an awkward moment as she tried to surprise her husband on Valentine's Day. The model, 39, and former footballer Peter Crouch, 44, share four kids together after tying the knot in 2011. And she admitted she still tries to keep the fire alive in the relationship and once slipped into skimpy lingerie. But all didn't go to plan after her man booked her a romantic meal. Abbey opened up on her attempts a few years ago on their podcast, The Therapy Crouch. She said: "One Valentine's Day quite a few years ago, I was head to toe in Agent Provocateur [AP].
"Dressed to the nines, with one of the macs that Pete bought me, and I thought we were going to stay in a hotel.". But she then confessed that Peter had also chose to surprise her with a plush night with a private chef coming to their home. She went on: "So me and him are sitting at the table, and I've got the full coat on. Pete's like: 'Take your coat off' and I'm like: 'Oh no, it's a bit chilly in here'.
"And then the chef proceeded to sit with us through every course, and I couldn't take my coat off because I literally only had AP on underneath. It was so awkward.". Pete told listeners how he has made a joke every year due to the incident. Now, he makes sure he buys Abbey a Burberry coat every Valentine's Day to mark the moment. "You should've told me," he joked before his wife replied: "I know. By the end of the meal, I was stuffed, and I put the fleece dressing gown back on.".
The duo are open about their relationship on social media. And Abbey also confessed it wasn't love at first sight for her. Abbey started dating the footballer in 2006 and got engaged to him three years later. The two tied the knot in a lovely wedding two years later and later welcomed four children, Sophie Ruby, Liberty Rose, Johnny and Jack. Previously opening up about what happened when they first met at a nightclub, things got sour when Abbey saw him talking to other girls. Discussing the moment the duo first met, she said: "I was working then I went down to the club downstairs and Pete was there, and I just remember my heart pounding. As I was going to the loo I was like 'Oh well done'." Speaking to her husband, she then asked: "You'd scored your first goal for Liverpool, didn't you?" Peter responded: "Yeah, took me a while.".
Abbey added: "Then you asked me for my number, and then I come out the loo, and he's like chatting another girl up." Pete denied doing so and told her: "I wasn't chatting another girl up, we were in a nightclub." Listening to the conversation, James quipped: "Player. Respect.". Like this story?
