AC/DC excited fans by announcing a world tour for 2025 before disappointing British followers by only announcing one UK show – which is not in London. The veteran rockers are set to play Edinburgh’s Murrayfield Stadium on August 21 but won’t play England, Wales or Ireland. And it’s safe to say that fans in the capital are feeling cold at being left off the list. “Where’s [the] England dates?” tweeted Nick, mimicking the comments of others.
“UK tour please,” said a second, with a third chiming in, ”Why no UK dates?”. As well as pointing out that Edinburgh is in the UK, commenters were quick to pile in that AC/DC played two sold-out shows at Wembley as part of the Power Up tour. Another, being somewhat diplomatic, added: “When the lads play TWO monumental dates at the very accessible and accommodating @wembleystadium, people 200 miles away in Scotland etc, complain. Then when they play Scotland, people are asking where's the English dates? Who says the UK even deserves 'DC to grace their shores?”.
While the news has upset some London fans, many Scots are looking forward to the date – although all are aware they’ll have to be quick off the mark to avoid disappointment. “Great news you're coming to Scotland,” Francesco tweeted. Jim said: “Yes!! Finally some good news in 2025, home gig at Murrayfield!!”. “Saw you guys at @wembleystadium two days after our wedding,” said another. “May have to make the trip to Edinburgh.”.
