The Acer Nitro 11, which debuted at CES 2025, is a beast of a gaming handheld, but its battery capacity is disappointing. After originally showcasing the Acer Nitro Blade 7 back at IFA last year, which I found to be pretty promising in my hands-on preview, Acer has now launched two new handhelds to add to its collection at CES 2025. Thankfully, I managed to get my hands on the Acer Nitro Blaze 11 at the event in Las Vegas to see if bigger really does mean better.

The Acer Nitro Blaze 11 will set you back $1,099, with regional pricing yet to be confirmed; this puts it at roughly £900 or AU$1,700. This is a super hefty price point, but boasting an 11-inch screen, bigger than any alternative on the market, it makes sense that it's got a cost to match.

You'll find that the Acer Nitro Blaze 11 has a black chassis which contains an absolutely giant 11-inch screen. It measures in at 144Hz and boasts 2560 x 1600 pixels. Despite not being OLED, the display is stunning, with bright, vibrant and gorgeous visuals. The bezels aren't thinnest around the edge of the screen, but this is likely to make room for the webcam.

On either side of the screen are two detachable controllers, and the back of the device also features a kickstand, allowing you to play in detached mode. To detach the controllers, you just hit a button on the back of each one and pull them away. I don't think anyone has made detachable controllers as well as the Nintendo Switch, and that remains the case as the Nitro 11s are quite finicky, but I'm sure would be easier after some getting used to them.
