Coleen Rooney has revealed how her former I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! campmate Alan Halsall is trying to land her a role in Coronation Street. The actor, who plays Tyrone Dobbs on the ITV soap, appeared on last year’s series of the reality alongside Coleen, who is married to former England football captain Wayne Rooney.

During their time in the jungle, fans saw how Alan was impressed with Coleen’s acting skills when they fibbed about the number of stars they had won in a Bushtucker Trial. Alan joked at the time: ‘I’ll be getting you a job in Coronation Street before you know it!’.

Coleen revealed to the Daily Star: ‘Alan is trying to get me behind the bar in Coronation Street. I loved performing arts and acting when I was younger. I always went to drama classes.’. However, she is not convinced she would succeed in the acting world, adding: ‘I feel like it would be hard to get into the industry. People see me as me, especially after I’m A Celebrity.
‘If I did a role, I think it would be hard for people to see me as the character.’. Coleen does have a history when it comes to soap, though as she made a cameo appearance in Hollyoaks many years ago. She added of her role on the Channel 4 soap: ‘My walk-on part on Hollyoaks was the first role I had.’.
