Coleen Rooney takes kids to see Man Utd play at Old Trafford hours before husband Wayne axed by Plymouth

WAYNE Rooney's family was spotted arriving at Old Trafford last night just hours before he was axed as Plymouth's manager. Wife Coleen, 38, was seen outside the stadium with their four kids Kai, 14, Klay, 11, Kit, eight, and six-year-old Cass. The family were wrapped up warm in thick coats as they walked through a car park ahead of the Premier League clash.

Eldest son Kai later posted their view from the stands on his Instagram tagging Old Trafford as the location. The I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here runner-up and her children went to watch Wayne's former club Manchester United lose 2-0 to Newcastle.

Rooney departed Plymouth Argyle this morning after seven months in charge. The 39-year-old was appointed in May and leaves with the club sat bottom of the Championship, four points from safety. His last game in charge came on Sunday, where Plymouth were beaten 2-0 by fellow strugglers Oxford.

A statement on the club website said: "Plymouth Argyle can confirm that the club and head coach Wayne Rooney have mutually agreed to part ways with immediate effect. "Departing the club with Rooney will be assistant head coach Mike Phelan and first-team coach Simon Ireland.

"First-team coach Kevin Nancekivell and club captain Joe Edwards will lead the team for our Sky Bet Championship match against Bristol City on New Year's Day.
