The bao buns, which come in a pack of eight, have returned to the freezer aisles in stores across the country after they were discontinued in early 2021. However, the wildly popular product will only be around for a limited time only. The light and fluffy bao buns have been a huge hit among shoppers everywhere - as they are easy to steam and fill with your favourite ingredients of choice, making them an easy lunch or dinner option.

Customers have expressed their excitement over the return of the bao buns. 'This is what I've been looking for,' one said. 'OMG I miss these,' another shared. 'I love bao buns from Aldi. They're super easy and cheap to make and you get so many. The only problem is having the will power to stop,' one added. In February 2021, an Aldi employee urged shoppers to stock up on the bao buns after she had to write the little 'D' on the shelf ticket, which indicated at the time the product was set to be discontinued.

'For all you bao bun lovers out there, it might be time to stock up. They were on the discontinued list [on February 10],' the employee said previously. 'My first thought when putting the little D on the ticket: "Oh the Aldi mums are going to be disappointed".'. Bao buns, which are a popular street food in Taiwan, are traditionally served steaming hot with roast pork and crackling, pickled cucumbers, coriander and hoisin sauce.
