Tesco and Spar have recalled 18 cheese types over potential listeria contamination. Both supermarkets have flagged the notice about Irish Cheddar manufactured by JOD Food Products. The manufacturer has said that the products “may” contain the harmful bacteria.
Customers who bought the affected products will be able to return them to the shop for a refund. Symptoms of listeria include high fever, muscle aches, nausea, and diarrhoea. In extreme cases, it can cause meningitis and sepsis. JOD Food Products issued a statement saying: "Please return the affected products to store where a full refund will be given.
