While Britain's Got Talent is known for it's jaw-dropping auditions, Amanda Holden pulls no punches when it comes to serving scene-stealing looks on the judging panel. The long-serving star has become renowned for her must-see outfits - with some of her more daring dresses landing her in hot water with OFCOM.

Despite some backlash - with some fans calling for her to 'cover up' on the family show, Amanda has refused to tone down her wild ensembles. In July 2017, Amanda rocked a plunging see-through Julien Macdonald dress that became the most complained about TV moment of the year. Amanda joked the furore was a 'national crisis', teasing: "I had bits of fish wire underneath my breasts trying to hold that together... It's all quite laughable, but all everyone seems to talk about. It's been called another national crisis – but, oh no, I will not be covered up.".

Amanda's risque frocks have become so talked about that she even has a team to check her chest before the live shows. "There's a whole body of people that knock on my door and come and stare at my chest before we go on air," she previously explained. "There's a t*t committee. There are so many brilliant people, they come down, knock on the door and there's the lady who's the producer who said, 'Mandy, it looks great'.".

As Britain's Got Talent returns tonight for another series, we take a look back at some of Amanda's most controversial outfits... Stepping out on to the main stage as she greeted fans in the audience of Britain's Got Talent semi-final, Amanda sent fans wild in this plunging gown that was slashed all the way to her belly button. Designed by Julien MacDonald, the TV star showed off her incredible figure in this fitted floor length black crochet dress with mesh panelling.

And while the mum of two seemed pleased with her amazing dress, the same could not be said for viewers of the show. She received 663 Ofcom complaints, as some found it an inappropriate outfit for a family show. But the TV regulator decided to not pursue an investigation. The dress was worth an estimated £11,000. And Ofcom said the dress "had potential to offend some viewers during what is a family show," adding the dress "would not have exceeded most viewers' expectations.".

Two years after she divided viewers over her choice of outfit, Amanda threw caution to the wind once again with this sheer spiderweb dress. And again this sparked a few Ofcom complaints. The show itself received 22 complaints, nine of which were about her dress.

One side of the gown was sheer with an embraided black spider web and flowers covering her modesty. While on the other side of the garment was made of white material. Although some viewers praised the star for her risque ensemble, others said they wished she dressed more appropriately.

Taking to X, one person said: "Amanda it's a family show as lovely as your dress is it was not appropriate. I was slightly embarrassed." Another penned: "Need to dress more appropriately for a family show!!! Lovely dress for the right occasion but BGT is not it!!!" But others were of the completely opposite sentiment. Another person commented: "Amanda looks like a princess in that dress.".

The following evening, Amanda opted for another eye-catching dress. The off the shoulder ensemble received 34 complaints, as once again it had a plunging neckline. But in a bid to defend her decision to wear racy outfits, she said in 2022: "Fashion is about taking risks. I encourage everyone to have a little fun and be a little daring. I'd be bored playing it safe." She added: "Alesha gets away with wearing bikinis, but I don't seem to. It's bizarre. With shows where there are strong women on a panel, it's sadly inevitable that they'll be judged on what they're wearing.".

Swapping a plunging neckline for a thigh-high split, Amanda chose to wear this dress with a lace corset by designer Suzanne Neville. Flashing her toned and tanned legs, 136 of the 896 Ofcom complaints were about her dress. At the time, Amanda addressed the complaints on social media. She said: "Just to say this dress got a tiny 136 complaints out of the 896 we apparently got that night. Surely there are more terrible and important things to write about...don't you agree? I'm baffled why it's still going on.".

Viewers were convinced they spotted Amanda's nipples in this V-neckline dress - which received 235 complaints. Hitting back at the negative comments, Amanda wrote on her Instagram: "Mmmm really?! Who has nipples this close to their cleavage?! FYI. A boned corset dented the girls all night.".
