Lucy Punch has finally returned to screens as her loveable yet infuriating character Amanda from smash hit BBC sitcom Motherland. Her insufferable and over-striving character has taken centre stage in her very own spin-off show, Amandaland, which has already been lauded by critics. Fans have been left overjoyed at seeing her return to her iconic comedy role, where she is well-known for her snobbish personality and uptight demeanour.

Though often typecast as a 'posh b***h', she has played quite the variety of roles over the years and has even bared all in some very raunchy on-screen moments. Lucy unexpectedly stripped down stark naked in the 2014 flick Someone Marry Barry, in which she starred as the leading character Barry's (Tyler Labine) girlfriend Melanie. In the comedy, three friends plot to get rid of their socially inappropriate friend Barry by finding him a wife, but their plan spectacularly backfires when his girlfriend Melanie is just as problematic as him.

Lucy has played quite the variety of different characters over the years, and famously played stripped down to kinky leather fetish wear in the 2010 comedy Dinner for Schmucks. Melanie doesn't shy away from continually upping the ante with her bold actions, and one notable scene sees her pull off all her clothes and streak through a park.

In the side-splitting moment, both Melanie and Barry throw off their clothes and run naked through the park, much to the horror of their group of friends. Lucy also famously locked lips with a female co-star in the 2010 film Elektra Luxx, with one steamy scene showing them packing on the PDA. The movie follows pregnant porn star Elektra Luxx (Carla Gugino) as she tries to make a living teaching sex classes to housewives in a very unexpected career change.

Lucy took on the role of Dolores, one of Elektra's students, and got involved in some rather racy scenes in the amusing comedy release. No stranger to signing up for eyebrow-raising roles, she starred as a nymphomaniac in Paul Rudd and Steve Carrell's 2010 comedy Dinner for Schmucks. While portraying Darla, Lucy stripped down to some kinky leather fetish wear for an eyebrow-raising spanking scene in the Hollywood film.

She also played a sex worker in the Woody Allen film You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger, and starred in the lesbian love triangle movie You, Me and Him in 2018. Lucy also unexpectedly stripped down stark naked in the 2014 flick Someone Marry Barry, in which she starred as the leading character Barry's (Tyler Labine) girlfriend Melanie. She famously locked lips with a female co-star in the 2010 film Elektra Luxx, with one steamy scene showing them packing on the PDA.

But in quite the role reversal, Lucy played the easily shocked, straight edge teacher to Cameron Diaz's scandalous character in the smash hit 2011 comedy Bad Teacher. Known for her varied film roles, she also portrayed supervillain Esmé Squalor in Netflix's A Series of Unfortunate Events, and Cinderella's wicked stepsister in both Ella Enchanted and Into The Woods. Lucy has previously addressed her varied repertoire and said she was continually typecast as a 'posh idiot' because of her background, having been privately educated at Godolphin and Latymer School in Hammersmith.

She said: 'I moved to the States because I kept getting cast as posh idiots. I was like: ''This is boring. I know I can do more than this''.'. In 2021, she also told The iPaper: 'I have played... A lot of b***hes and witches and ugly stepsisters.'. Often typecast as the vexatious blonde, the actress admitted she was relieved to play a more 'respected' woman in the 2021 BBC medic show Bloods. Discussing the role at the time, she said: 'It was nice to play someone that I respected, a capable, practical woman who is fantastic at her job. But when you see her with him, she's in freefall.

'She's a woman in her 40s, who is so used to being in control, and then loses it and is just… melting.'. No stranger to signing up for raunchy roles, she also starred as a nymphomaniac in Paul Rudd and Steve Carrell's 2010 comedy Dinner for Schmucks. Lucy has previously addressed her varied repertoire and said she was continually typecast as a 'posh idiot'. She is pictured with Joanna Lumley in Amandaland.

Lucy acknowledged that she is still often cast as the 'posh b***h', which is certainly true of her love/hate Motherland character Amanda. In the new spin-off show, the recently divorced Amanda must navigate parenting teenagers in her new surroundings, having downsized from a sprawling Chiswick townhouse to a flat in South Harlesden. The long-suffering Anne (Philippa Dunne) also returns for the spin-off, as does Amanda's mother Felicity, played by Joanna Lumley.
