Amanda Holden has revealed that she was concerned that she might expose herself accidentally while at The Royal Variety Show. The Royal Variety Show took place at London’s Royal Albert Hall, with Amanda, 53, and Alan Carr taking over from Bradley Walsh to host this year’s celebration.
The radio presenter revealed ahead of the show that she had concerns about her look. ‘My outfit is definitely glamorous – hopefully nobody complains to Ofcom!’ she joked. While chatting to The Sun’s TV Mag, Alan then joked: ‘Mine’s backless, frontless, tasteless… you can’t be in Uggs when you’re hosting with Amanda!’.
Amanda was referencing her 2017 dress that she wore on Britain’s Got Talent which sparked nearly 700 complaints. The judge wore a black Julien McDonald dress with a deep v-neckline and an open back with ornate embellishment. The £11,000 dress showcased the star’s cleavage and upset viewers who complained to Ofcom.
Alan and Amanda also joked about curtseying to the royals in attendance at the show as Amanda revealed she was concerned she’d fall out. ‘We’ll both go low if we get the chance,’ said Amanda. Alan replied: ‘You might not be able to in your outfit!’.
‘Can you imagine if I fell out?’ Amanda said. Before the 2017 series kicked off, Amanda told The Sun: ‘I can’t wait to wear my dresses. They are very flattering and feminine and a few are… what you would expect. ‘Will people be complaining to Ofcom? I hope so. I really do. I haven’t done my job if they aren’t.’.
