Andy Murray has poked fun at Elon Musk's presence on social media website X. The retired Scottish tennis star, currently coaching former rival Novak Djokovic in Melbourne ahead of the Australian Open, claimed the Tesla and SpaceX chief was dominating his feed on X. Musk owns the site formerly known as Twitter.
The outspoken South African-born businessman has overseen a number of change's to X's alogrithms in recent years. The 53-year-old's latest push is to promote more 'informational/entertaining content' after judging 'too much negativity is being pushed'.
"The top 17 posts on my Twitter [sic] feed are from Elon Musk." posted Murray, accompanied by a crying laughter emoji. "Interesting algorithm he’s created.". Musk had already captured headlines in the sporting world of late, after his father suggested Donald Trump's ally would be interested in buying Liverpool Football Club. The Tesla CEO is said to be worth £340billion and noted to have a family connection to the city.
"I can't comment on that. They'll raise the price," Musk Sr said. "Oh, yes. But that doesn't mean he's buying it. He would like to yes, obviously. Anybody would want to - so would I.". "His grandmother was born in Liverpool, and we have relatives in Liverpool, and we were fortunate to know quite a lot of the Beatles because they grew up with some of my family," he added. "So, we are attached to Liverpool, you know.".
The Reds have received no contact from the billionaire and Fenway Sports Group have no interest in selling the club however. February 2023 saw Liverpool's principal owner John W Henry distance himself from a potential sale. "Will we be in England forever? No. Are we selling LFC? Have we sold anything in the past 20+ years?" he said.
