Stalls handler escapes serious injury after getting trampled by horses A stalls handler has had a miraculous escape from serious injury after being trampled by a field of racehorses.
Jason Cullen was among the team of attendants supervising seven horses taking part in barrier trials at Gold Coast racecourse in Queensland on Tuesday.
Yet before trial 14, with the field of horses loaded and set to go, Cullen could be seen walking in front of the barrier.
Barrier trials are a feature of racing in Australia and allow trainers to run horses in race conditions, for no prize-money, as part of their training.
Gold Coast staged 19 barrier trials on Tuesday over four and a half furlongs, 18 of which were completed without incident.
