Singer Matt Helders has revealed he has joined personal greetings site Cameo. The Arctic Monkeys star took to Instagram to reveal the news, admitting he has done so for a very special cause. The English singer-songwriter, 38, rose to fame with the rock band alongside bandmates Alex Turner, Jamie Cook and Nick O'Malley. He moved to Los Angeles as the band's success continued, and now he is hoping to help those affected by the devastating California wildfires.
Writing on social media, Matt said: "LA is a place I've called home for the past 13 years. It's where my daughter was born and is raised, it's where she goes to school, and where we are grateful to be. Amanda and I are doing everything we can personally and privately to help, but in order to do more and shed some light on the organisations doing so much to help, I'm gonna do a limited run on @cameo and donate all proceeds to @daylaborernetwork a community that inspires me and I admire very much.".
He shared a link to his Cameo page underneath. He revealed he had been inundated with requests and Matt's efforts were quickly praised by fans online. One Twitter/X user said: "i’m seriously this close to buying a cameo from matt helders." Another added: "The question of whether to buy this week’s groceries or order a matt helders cameo for charity and the plot.".
Wildfires have torn through multiple parts of LA and continue cause havoc across California since last Tuesday. They continue to threaten areas including Calabasas, Hidden Hills and Montecito, with more than 10,000 homes having been destroyed to date.
