Arsenal left-back Oleksandr Zinchenko is attracting interest from Borussia Dortmund and could leave the club before the January transfer window closes. Dortmund are on the hunt for a new left-back this month and they expressed an interest in Chelsea defender Renato Veiga.

The 21-year-old, however, is now set to sign for Juventus on loan and that has forced Dortmund to look elsewhere. Zinchenko has emerged as a target and Arsenal could be tempted into letting him go if the terms of a prospective deal are right. The 28-year-old has slipped down the pecking order at and Arsenal’s win over Dinamo Zagreb was just his fourth start of the season.
Zinchenko is into the final 18 months of his contract with Arsenal and there have been no talks over a possible extension. The Ukraine international joined the Gunners from Manchester City in the summer of 2022 and became a key member of the team. Zinchenko revolutionised the way Arsenal played out from defence by tucking into midfield from left-back.
He has struggled for fitness during his time at Arsenal, though, and faced growing competition for his place in the side. Arsenal splashed around £40million on Riccardo Calafiori last summer, while Myles Lewis-Skelly has emerged from the academy to be a surprise option at left-back.
The Gunners have been hit hard by injuries this season, but left-back is one area where they have plenty of depth. As well as Calafiori, Lewis-Skelly and Zinchenko, there are the likes of Jakub Kiwior, Jurrien Timber, Kieran Tierney and Takehiro Tomiyasu to pick from in that position.
