Arsenal have sustained a fresh nightmare injury concern with Kai Havertz picking up a problem in Dubai. The Gunners are currently in a warm weather training camp in the Middle East ahead of their next Premier League game against Leicester. And despite the camp intended to give the Gunners some respite, they have picked up a fresh issue. According to Mail Online, Havertz suffered a hamstring issue in a session earlier this week. There is no added diagnosis about his condition but it would immediately put him in doubt for this weekend's game.
Havertz, 25, had been enjoying a positive season for the North London side. He has scored 15 goals and provided five assists in all competitions this term in all competitions - those numbers being an improvement on the 14 goals and seven goals he scored last term after being signed from Chelsea. His new issue comes at an awful time for Arsenal, who are already sweating over the fitness of Gabriel Martinelli, who was injured against Newcastle.
"Yes, he [Martinelli] felt something," Mikel Arteta said. "I think it was his hamstring and he wasn't comfortable to continue so we'll have to do an MRI scan tomorrow to see the extent of the injury.". The pair could potentially join Gabriel Jesus on the sidelines this weekend - the Brazilian seeing his season ended by a serious knee injury. Bukayo Saka is also ruled out and is not expected to return from his hamstring injury issue any time soon.

Defenders Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu have also been long-term absentees, and there is serious concern over the Japanese international. Tomiyasu has been suffering with a troublesome knee injury and Arsenal doctors are considering surgery to correct the issue. But that would require a signifcant recovery period. Speaking last month, Arsenal boss Arteta said: "Tomi has done some stuff on the pitch, but now because it’s been a long-term injury, we need to see how quickly he can progress and how he reacts.".
Arsenal take on Leicester this weekend and could potentially cut the gap to table-topping Liverpool to just three points, albeit that depends on how Arne Slot's side get on against Everton on Wednesday. Arsenal's next match after this weekend's trip to the King Power Stadium sees them come up against West Ham. Join our new WhatsApp communityand receive your daily dose of Mirror Football content.
