Actor Ben Stiller is known for starring in many hit films such as Zoolander, Night at the Museum and Meet the Parents. However, the 59-year-old star, from New York, US, has been discussing one of his lesser-known titles this week – Disney film 'Heavyweights'.
Although some film fans may not have heard of it, one fan dubbed it "the most underrated Disney movie of all time" as they celebrated the title's 30th anniversary on X. And none other than Ben Stiller himself retweeted the post as he had his take on the matter. After being thanked by the fan for working on the movie, Ben replied: "Somehow I don’t think this will be at the head of the Disney+ queue ever. In fact I’m not sure they are aware they made it. But that was an incredibly fun summer in North Carolina 30 years ago.".
The 1995 family comedy, directed by Steven Brill and written by Brill with Judd Apatow, follows a fat camp for kids that is taken over by a fitness entrepreneur as its campers work to overthrow him. Although the film was initially met with mixed reviews, it found a cult following through home video and cable TV airings.
People were loving Ben's take on the movie, as his post racked up more than 8.9million views. One person exclaimed: "Camp Hope forever!" While another branded it a "top tier comedy". A third chimed in: "Dude, your highlight reel from this movie will never not be Oscar-worthy.".
Ben is currently in the spotlight as the second series of hit Apple TV+ show Severance, which he directs, began airing last month. The American science fiction psychological thriller series, starring Adam Scott, has received acclaim for its cinematography, direction, production design, musical score, story, and performances and received numerous Emmy nominations.
It sees Scott's character Mark leads a team of office workers whose memories have been surgically divided between their work and personal lives. When a mysterious colleague appears outside of work, it leads to them discovering the truth about their jobs.
