Billy Ray Cyrus ’ ex-wife Firerose has issued a damning statement about the singer following his “trainwreck” performance at Trump’s inauguration Liberty Ball earlier this week. Billy Ray, 63, and Aussie musician Firerose, 25 - real name Joanna Rosie Hodges - got engaged in August 2022, before tying the knot in October 2023. Just months later, in May 2024, he filed for a divorce, with the process finalised back in August.
Now, Firerose has spoken out and suggested that Billy Ray’s messy live show - during which he asked the audience whether he should "get the hell off the stage" - is reflective of how he is behind the scenes, amid worrying allegations about their relationship. “What’s being seen in public now reflects much of what I experienced in private during our relationship,” she told Page Six.
“It’s very sad to see those same struggles continue for him, but I’m glad the truth is coming to light - for his potential good because healing is only possible when you confront the truth and accept there’s a problem.” She added that alongside her religion and music, she’s focused on using her “story to encourage others to find strength and hope.”.
Firerose’s statement comes after Billy Ray’s son, Trace, also shared an emotional message about the country star. Trace is the son of Billy's ex wife Tish Cyrus and Bexter Neal Helson, and was adopted by Billy Ray at the age of four. On Instagram, Trace shared an image of himself and his adoptive dad and wrote: "Since my earliest memories all I can remember is being obsessed with you and thinking you were the coolest person ever.
