Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman will all be skipping the Golden Globes 2025. Lively, 37, is reportedly choosing to swerve attending the annual awards show which kicks off on Sunday, January 5, amid her ongoing legal battle with her It Ends With Us costar and director Justin Baldoni. However, it isn’t just Blake who will be missing from the staple of the Hollywood calendar as her husband Ryan Reynolds and his Wolverine and Deadpool co-star Hugh Jackman will also be sitting this year out too.
According to Deadline, Lively, Reynolds and Jackman all made their decisions not to attend the awards ceremony on Sunday well before the It Ends With Us legal battle began, meaning their absence has nothing to do with the ongoing scandal. However, the tense situation between Baldoni and Lively will no doubt have soured the start to the actress’ year, with the ‘hot-button’ subject dominating many industry circles.
As a result of the ongoing legal battle, it’s understood that there isn’t any likelihood of the situation being mentioned at the Globes, with comedian Nikki Glaser, who is set to host the show, already have confirmed she won’t be making any jokes about the situation.
“I think the Blake Lively–Justin Baldoni thing is such a hot-button thing right now that even a mere mention of it will seem like I could be on the wrong side of things, even though I would never be,” Glaser, 40, told Yahoo! Entertainment on Thursday, January 2. “I also don’t want to give his name any [weight].”.
