Netflix star Kim Sae-ron admitted feeling "very ashamed" in a heartfelt apology before her death aged 24. The actress, who shot to fame on the Netflix series Bloodhounds, was discovered by a friend who then alerted the authorities on Sunday. The police are investigating her death but don't suspect any foul play. Kim Sae-ron took on the lead female role of a 12-episode web series called The Great Shaman Ga Doo-shim in 2021, before being cast in SBS drama Trolley. Sadly, she left the project just months later after suffering a DUI incident after drunk driving charges were filed against her.

At the time, her agency had released a statement saying: "Kim Sae-ron is deeply reflecting on her apparent mistake. The damage caused by the crash is being compensated as much as possible. I will do my best to take responsibility until the end.". She later apologised on her Instagram account with a handwritten note which read: "First, I am sorry to inform you of the position after arranging the accident and damage situation. Yesterday May 18, 2022 around 8am in Gangnam, I had an accident that damaged public property. I made a big mistake while drinking.

"I caused damage to so many people, including merchants, citizens, and those who restored it. I should have acted more carefully and responsibly, but I couldn't. I sincerely apologise. "We are working out the damage caused by the accident together with the company. I will do my best to communicate and actively resolve the matter until the end. I am very sorry to my fellow actors and staff as well as the production team for disrupting the production of the work that was being filmed and prepared.

"Once again, we deeply apologise and apologize for causing concern. There is no excuse for this unfortunate incident. I am disappointed and very ashamed of the mistakes I have made.". She was fined ₩20 million (around £11,000) by the prosecutor of Seoul Central District Court in 2023. However, she later asked for leniency due to financial difficulties. Kim Sae-ron has been in numerous films and TV shows since she started acting at the age of nine. She first gained recognition as a child actress in the 2009 film A Brand New Life and 2010's The Man From Nowhere.

Her career took off with leading roles in the 2014 film A Girl At My Door and the 2011 TV drama Listen To My Heart. . She landed her first adult lead role in the 2016 TV drama Secret Healer, the same year she signed with YG Entertainment.
