Bonnie Tyler has opened up about how the miscarriage of her only pregnancy at 39 affected her - despite finally feeling ready to be a mother. The pop legend, 73, and husband Robert met in Swansea, Wales where she was working as a singer at the club he managed at the time. One of the main secrets to their marriage, she believes, is that they met before she became famous. Sadly, she feels they "left it too late" to have children and struggled with her miscarriage at 40 years old. Speaking to The Mirror about her miscarriage, she explained that it was a tough time for them, but they aren't "type to dwell on things" and that she returned back to work a week after. Though "unlucky" in becoming parents, Tyler gushed about her nephews and nieces and claimed her Mumbles home is "like Paddington station because everyone wants to come and visit Auntie Gaynor".

Born as Gaynor Sullivan, Tyler's heartbreak at 39 over her miscarriage hits hard as the star shared "it just felt like the right time" for her and that it was "the first time" she "felt maternal". Once the couple decided they were ready, they "stopped all precautions, and it happened straight away", only to lose the baby and then "it didn't happen after that" shared the singer. The Total Eclipse Of The Heart singer says she counts herself "blessed to have known that [she] could be pregnant" and that she got to experience the joy of pregnancy. Tyler recalled how her and husband Robert were "so sad" but the following weekend she "was in Paris for a TV show" and "just moved on".

From Neath, South Wales, Tyler was scouted whilst singing in a Swansea club at just 17 and eventually signed the very same label as Elvis Presley. Known for her uniquely deep voice, Tyler found further fame with the Footloose hit, Holding Out For A Hero and It's A Heartache. Tyler went on to represent Great Britain at the Eurovision Contest in 2013, coming in 19th place with song, Believe In Me. Tyler now has a European tour which starts in Finland, April 9th, to promote her third live album in Berlin, released on the 19th April this year.

The Holding Out For A Hero singer, Bonnie Tyler, appeared on Good Morning Britain on Wednesday to promote her newest single, Yes I Can, but left Richard Madeley blushing after a flirtatious comment on how handsome she found the co-host. Making the most of the famed singer on their guest couch, Richard couldn't help but ask after Tyler's personal life and find out the secret for her marital success with Olympic Judo husband, Robert Sullivan. Married for 51 years, Bonnie, 73, and Robert, 80, still enjoy discovering the world together which led Madeley to ask whether the key was "more time together, not less time together?".

Bonnie was quick to agree, pointing out the visual benefits by adding: "And he's not bad to look at - like you!". Tyler's harmless flirtation had 68 year old Richard immediately flushing as he attempted to shut down the teasing that followed. Bright red, Richard begged: "Let's not go there! No, no move on!' while his co-host Susanna Reid exclaimed: "He's blushing!" - unable to hold in her laughter.

Not knowing where to look, the host flapped his hands around and said, "I'm just going to let this moment pass", but like a true friend, Susanna dug deeper and asked Tyler whether her husband would mind that she'd "just told Richard Madeley how handsome he is?" to which the singer smiled and said: "No! He's not the jealous type". More settled, Richard laughed and replied: "Thank God, because if he's a black belt I'm in trouble!".
