A TEENAGER has died after his car overturned at a petrol station in front of horrified onlookers. The 17-year-old was killed after his grey Audi A3 overturned at Applegreen petrol station on New Town in Uckfield, East Sussex, at around 5pm on Friday. Emergency services rushed to the scene to assist members of the public that were trying to save the teenager. Despite their best efforts, including performing CPR, the driver was declared dead at the scene.

The front seat passenger of the vehicle, an 18-year-old man from Lewes, was uninjured. Detective Sergeant Rosie Newman, of the Sussex Police Serious Collision Investigations Unit, said: “Our enquiries to establish the exact circumstances of this tragic incident are ongoing. "No other vehicles were involved. “Our thoughts remain with the victim’s loved ones at this extremely difficult time.". Police are also appealing for witnesses or anyone with dash cam footage to come forward and email collision.appeal@sussex.police.uk quoting Operation Chineham.
