They were once Hollywood's Golden Couple but now Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are officially divorced. According to court documents obtained by TMZ the Oscar winners, who share six children, have reached a settlement after a mammoth eight year battle. Actress Angelina's lawyer James Simon confirmed: "More than eight years ago, Angelina filed for divorce from Mr Pitt. She and the children left all of the properties they had shared with Mr Pitt, and since that time she has focused on finding peace and healing for their family. This is just one part of a long ongoing process that started eight years ago. Frankly, Angelina is exhausted, but she is relieved this one part is over." Brad's lawyer is yet to comment.
Brad, 61, was famously married to Friends star Jennifer Aniston back in 2004 when he met his future wife on the set of Mr and Mrs Smith. By 2005 'Brangelina', who played a married couple hiding a big secret from each other in the movie, had gone public and Jennifer said her ex had a 'sensitivity chip' missing.
Angelina, 49, and her new beau went onto have children Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh and twins Knox and Vivienne They tied the knot in France in 2014 in an intimate ceremony, with the kids helping custom design the actress's wedding dress. But just two years later, Angelina filed for divorce from Brad citing 'irreconcilable differences'. The couple had taken a private jet flight from Europe, with the actress claiming her then husband was abusive towards her and their children. Brad has always denied the allegation and was cleared by authorities following an investigation.
