Call the Midwife star Natalie Quarry has confirmed a romance for her character Rosalind Clifford, which might not end as well as fans are hoping. Natalie and her co-star Rebecca Gethings, who plays Sister Veronica, appeared on ITV's Lorraine on Friday (January 17) to discuss the current season of the hit period drama.
During the interview, host Ranvir Singh highlighted the "chemistry" between Rosalind and Cyril Robinson. Last weekend, Rosalind was heartbroken when Cyril returned to Jamaica to visit his wife Lucille, who left Nonnatus House in season 12. "We want a bit of romance, don't we? But it's complicated. There is undoubtedly some chemistry going on between you and Cyril," Ranvir said before a clip from the show was played.
"Well, look, I don't want to spoil it for anyone, but it isn't the end of their story. That's all I'm going to say. But I may not say anymore," Natalie explained, teasing a future love triangle. Rosalind, who is a pupil midwife and nurse, first appeared on the show during season 13 last year. She has since bonded with Cyril after joining him in volunteering at a homeless shelter.
During Sunday's (January 12) episode, the pair happily joked around before their hands brushed in a tender moment. Cyril later had a conversation with Mrs Wallace, who reminded him that being married means you have to make things work, so he decided to pack his bags and travel to his wife.
