Call the Midwife fans are in for a thrilling weekend as the much-loved BBC series kicks off its 14th season. The show transports Poplar's residents into a fresh chapter, where they'll confront a host of new challenges. Renee Bailey and Natalie Quarry, who bring Joyce Highland and Rosalind Clifford to life on-screen, dropped some juicy hints about what viewers can expect from the new episodes during their chat with BBC Breakfast's Charlie Stayt and Naga Munchetty.

The interview wrapped up with a quirky query by Naga that left the cast members momentarily taken aback. She threw them a curveball, asking: "Who was the last person to drop a baby on-set?". Their initial reaction was one of shock, underscored by gasps, before they addressed her question. Natalie assured: "I don't think that's ever happened.".

Reinforcing this sentiment, Renee asserted: "I think that's the one thing that everyone can probably say hands down has never happened, yet!". Naga then quizzed about any mishaps involving the prop babies, but the actresses confirmed that both real and model infants receive the utmost care at all times. In perfect unison, they laughed and declared: "No!".

Renee went on to describe how surprisingly hefty the faux babies feel, a point quickly reaffirmed by Natalie who echoed: "They're much heavier than the real babies.". Moreover, when quizzed by Charlie whether the difference between an authentic and fabricated baby could be detected during filming, the duo admitted the task isn't easy due to the realistic nature of the models, reports Wales Online.
