Carl Froch has labelled UFC star Conor McGregor as 'absolutely vulgar' after the Irishman was filmed spitting in a man's face. The Irishman was back in the spotlight earlier this week after he shockingly reacted to a fan's comment, supporting long-time rival Khabib Nurmagomedov - who famously choked out McGregor in their world title fight back in 2018. In the video, McGregor was seen walking through a shopping centre when a fan was heard yelling "Let's go Khabib!" After hearing the man's comment, the 36-year-old couldn't back down and just had to react. The former dual-weight UFC champion turned around and had an angry confrontation with the individual. An apparent spitting sound was then heard before McGregor walked away. He was then heard saying: "I spit in your face, what do you do? Nothing." It remains unknown as to the location and the date of the video.
His actions have since gone viral on social media, with many quick to slam his vile act. One person who has also offered their verdict on the matter is Froch. The former super-middleweight boxing world champion was quick to launch a passionate attack at the Irishman, and claims if it was him on the receiving end, then McGregor would've got a 'swift right hand.'. In a video uploaded to his podcast X account, Froch on Fighting Clips, the Brit shared his thoughts on the incident, captioning the post: "Absolutely VULGAR, just VILE... if it was me, YOU WOULD HAVE GOT A SWIFT RIGHT HAND. @Carl_Froch SLAMS @TheNotoriousMMA for spitting in someone's face." The 47-year-old was then quick to share the Tweet on his personal account, saying: "What would you do??".
The 50 second clip shows Froch fervidly reacting to the incident, with the British star refusing to hold back when sharing his assessment of McGregor's recent behaviour. "For McGregor to go over to go over to this guy and spit in his face... what are you doing?! Why are you spitting in a grown man's face? And not only did you spit in his face, he then bragged about it and said 'I've just spat in your face and you've done nothing about it,'" Froch began.
"I mean, what can the guy do about it? He has a go at McGregor and gets took down or battered, but then again McGregor is going straight to jail. Why is McGregor putting himself in these stupid positions? He's already been in enough trouble now, you'd think he'd want to keep a low profile and keep his head down. Somebody shouts 'Khabib,' he's allowed to shout Khabib... he's a Khabib fan! Don't go over and spit in a man's face, it's just vile, it's wrong, it's classless, and if it was me, you would've got a swift right hand straight down the pipe on that stupid chin of yours. It's just out of order, it's vulgar and you need to grow up.".
McGregor's clash with the fan came just days after he appeared to have defended Bryce Mitchell after the American faced criticism for his vile rant praising German dictator Adolf Hitler. In a post uploaded to X - formerly known as Twitter - he wrote: "Saying a prayer for my God fearing brother Bryce Mitchell tonight who I know is a good man," the post began. "Let this be acknowledgement/confirmation of the rise in antisemitic commentary, as well as all sorts of other bull****, phobic, racist commentary, that spreads feverishly and instantly across the world wide web where we, as curious beings, are brainwashed into all sorts of thinking. For what ? For one reason and one reason only. Human division. We say NO!.
"All Nations and their people deserve freedom! Humans under God deserve Peace and Freedom and I, like Jesus did for us, would give my heart, body and soul for it! From Palestine to Jerusalem, Israel to Ukraine, Germany to Africa! Russia to Ireland to England to America to Iran. Egypt. Sweden! FREEDOM! Peace in the mother f****** world because F*** THESE ROBOTS, WE ARE HUMAN! HUMANS UNDER GOD FOR THE WIN! GOD SAYS DON'T HARM HIS CHILDREN SO NOW NEVER NO MORE! Please God, earth! Let’s go! We have got this! PEACE PEACE FROM, THE CHAMP CHAMP.".
