Food enthusiast and Netflix's 'Crazy Delicious' winner Samira Kazan has discovered a foolproof method for making poached eggs. Sharing her culinary wisdom with her 720K+ TikTok followers, she revealed: "I tried more than 10 methods to make the perfect poached eggs and this is the most stable one.". She also debunked the myth that only super fresh eggs can be used for poaching. So, what's her secret? Firstly, she strains the egg to eliminate the runny whites. Then, she places a heat-proof cup in boiling water and cracks the egg into it, allowing it to cook directly in the cup.
Once done, she uses a strainer to lift out the cup and dries the egg on kitchen paper. Samira explained: "I dropped just a small cup so the eggs don't go everywhere, like what normally happens when eggs aren't coming immediately from the chicken.". Her innovative technique has been hailed as "This is genius" by some online users, but others suggest simpler alternatives, such as using a microwave, reports the Express. One user suggested: "Put it in a cup then the microwave.".
Another shared their own hack: "You can just get a cup of water (room temperature) crack an egg into the cup. Put a plate over the cup with the egg in, and put it in the microwave for 45sec.". A third offered an even easier tip: "Egg in boiling water in a cup in the microwave for 40 seconds for anyone that wants it easier.". While some traditionalists swear by vinegar for poaching eggs, the debate on the best method continues online. One person recommended: "Teaspoon of vinegar and drop the eggs from the surface of the water that's all you need.".
Another disagreed, suggesting, "No," and added, "just add vinegar to the boiling water and then swirl the water around. Add the egg and it'll shape itself.". However, a clever individual proposed an alternative for that impeccably runny yolk without the poaching process. The eggs boasted stunning thick, runny, orange yolks that were simply irresistible. A nutrition guru shared their guaranteed trick for those who dread the traditional poaching technique, claiming: "This is my foolproof method, especially if you hate poaching eggs, to give you that gloriously rich runny yolk every time.".
