Chris Jones couldn't contain his fury at the embarrassing first half produced by the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl against Philadelphia Eagles. When wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins dropped a simple catch near the end of the second quarter when he was side open, Jones dropped to his knees on the sideline before banging his fists on the turf. And Chiefs star Jones wasn't done there. NFL reporter James Palmer watched the beleaguered Chiefs make their way off the field at halftime and said Jones was still seething.

'On his way to the locker room Chris Jones just chucked his helmet across the field in frustration and was one of the final players into the Chiefs locker room.'. The Chiefs were 24-0 down at the interval in New Orleans. Near enough everything that could go wrong in the first 30 minutes against the Eagles did. Patrick Mahomes threw two interceptions and Travis Kelce didn't take a single reception in the first half, looking lost out on the field as their 'three-peat' hopes were left hanging by a thread. Before the game, Jones cried at the performance of The Star-Spangled Banner at Caesars Superdome - something that is usually considered a good omen for the Chiefs. Jones wept at two renditions of the national anthem in the postseason leading up to the Super Bowl and before last year's showpiece game - the Chiefs won all of those.
