Film enthusiasts were super excited over the release of Gladiator II. The movie, which was a big hit after hitting screens last year, was helmed by the acclaimed Ridley Scott, serving as a follow-up to the 2000 classic Gladiator. The sequel boasted a star-studded cast including the likes of Paul Mescal, Pedro Pascal and Denzel Washington. However, eagle-eyed fans have spotted another familiar face among the cast – one that first made an impression on the Cobbles.

Actor Dean Anthony Fagan, better known for his role as Luke Britton, the mechanic from ITV's Coronation Street between 2014 and 2018, has been recognized by Reddit users in Gladiator II looking distinct from how many of us remember him. Over a decade ago, when he made his debut in Coronation Street, Dean depicted his character Luke as "an ambitious cheeky chappy who's a dreamer as well.". Yet, in 2018, his character met a tragic end at the hands of killer Pat Phelan. Since his dramatic exit, Dean has played Stevie in the gripping BBC One three-part drama, Time, which explored life's emotional rollercoaster inside a British prison.

He also had a role in January 2022 as Denis Ahern's estranged son, Finn, in the RTÉ One thriller drama Smother's second series. But soap enthusiasts are being floored by recent snaps of Dean on the set of Gladiator II. Looking mighty and strong, he appeared ready to conquer new worlds and he's barely recognisable. The revealing photo on Reddit had fans buzzing with excitement, eager to spot him on their screens once more. They didn't hold back in the comments section.

One chimed in with: "Aww... I really liked Luke. We had just started watching Coronation Street when Luke got killed off. "What a first death to be introduced to a show by! He died like three times before he died. It was really something.". Another fan admitted: "I watched it tonight and couldn't put my finger on where I had seen him before.". Someone else wrote: "Holy cats, I didn't even realize that was him! Guess I'll have to watch it again.".
