There's a huge return on the way on Coronation Street, as Rob Donovan makes his comeback after seven years. The character, played by actor Marc Baylis, remains in prison for the murder of Tina McIntyre - and soon he will be back on the show. He could be back in Weatherfield too, leaving it unclear whether he is a reformed man, or has remained the same old Rob.

New spoilers have teased what leads to his comeback, while Corrie boss Kate Brooks has confirmed it's not a shirt stint. While it's not been revealed how long Rob is back for, Kate teased he had plenty of time to ruffle some feathers in a new storyline for him and sister Carla Connor.

Life in Weatherfield has changed since he was last there, with his son Bobby Crawford now living with Carla, and Carla is in a romance with Lisa Swain. Rob's ex Tracy Barlow is also loved up and away from the cobbles. But how will they all react to Rob's comeback, and what drama will it bring for Swarla and Bobby? Bobby actually initiates the return when he visits his father in prison in the coming weeks.

Carla is in hospital where she learns the worrying news that she needs to have a kidney transplant. Bobby begs Rob to help Carla, but will he? At some point Rob is back and causing trouble for those around him. Kate told The Mirror: "There are some things that are going to cause problems for Carla and Lisa, and one very big one in particular. There is a big one… a big Rob Donovan return! We last left Rob languishing in prison. He made mistakes.
