DJ Khaled received a black coffin on his doorstep as he was dragged back into his reported beef with Drake. The fake casket had an upside-down white cross painted in the centre along with the words 'RIP Drake' and 'RIP OVO'. The black casket was placed outside the front gate of DJ Khaled's home in Florida. It was reported two people, who claimed to be from a delivery company, drove up to his Miami residence in a truck.
DJ Khaled's team reportedly granted them access to the property before the two people placed the casket outside the gate. After they reportedly got down on their knees to 'pray', they returned to their truck and drove off, according to TMZ. Miami police said the producer's security team destroyed and disposed of it.
It comes after controversial rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine received a similar casket with the name of his deceased rival, King Von, painted on it. The two people delivering the item also left a bouquet of flowers and a pet box. Tekashi told the outlet he wanted to "keep the King Von coffin and put it in my room" but authorities took it away.
In recent weeks, tension has been noticed between DJ Khaled and Drake when the 49-year-old music producer claimed he secured two features with Drake on his upcoming album, Aalam of God. On his social media page, he shared a seven-minute trailer for the album, which also included actors Mark Wahlberg and Anthony Ramos.
Drake seemed to be unaware of the features and wrote on a post: "Must be @Drakebell." Following the comment, DJ Khaled removed the trailer from his social media pages. It is still unknown whether Drake could possibly be taking part in the forthcoming album.
Meanwhile, Drake and PartyNextDoor recently released a joint album on Valentine's Day called $ome $exy $ongs 4 U. But before the album even dropped, fans were calling out the duo for ripping off the title and artwork of famous American rapper Freddie Gibbs, who took to X to call out the Canadian artists for their perceived plagiarism.
The accusations started circulating last week when the artists revealed the track list for $ome $exy $ongs 4 U ($$$4U). Rap fans were quick to call out the album’s distinct use of $$$ was similar to American rapper Freddie Gibbs’ 2022 album, $oul $old $eparately.
While some fans dismissed the comparison as a stretch to maximise drama, others pointed out another comparison to Gibbs on the released track list. The graphic artwork for $$$4U features three cartoon rabbits, each with different images in their eyes, including dollar signs, flaming earbuds, and red hearts.
Rabbits are Gibbs’ unofficial mascot. The rapper has called himself “the rabbit” for years and features rabbit references in his records Big Boss Rabbit, Space Rabbit, and on the $oul $old $eparately album cover. Neither Drake or PartyNextDoor have commented publicly on the allegations.
