James Bye’s new role has been confirmed, days on from his EastEnders exit. The actor’s final scenes as Martin Fowler aired last Thursday, when the character died following the Queen Vic explosion. The beloved face was trapped under a beam that he had realised was falling from the ceiling. He shoved Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) out of the way, becoming stuck seconds later.

As Stacey waited for the frame to get removed, she sat and spoke to Martin about their life. They eventually agreed to reunite and get married, concluding they’re meant to be together. To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video.
Up Next. In a classic soap twist, just as Stacey and Martin smiled about their future, it was ripped away from them. As the beam was removed, Martin suffered Crush Syndrome, which occurred as a result of the toxins flooding his body. It led to Martin’s death, and a harrowing scream from Stacey that was enough to allow the characters outside to realise what had happened.
Following the devastating death of his character, actor James Bye is turning his attention to the world of theatre for his new role. As confirmed by the All That Dazzles X account, James will feature in the cast of Death Comes To Pemberley, which is based on the novel by P.D James.
The show will begin at The Mill at Sonning, and then tour around the UK. Want to be the first to hear shocking EastEnders spoilers? Who’s leaving Coronation Street? The latest gossip from Emmerdale?.
