This article contains spoilers for Emmerdale’s episode on Thursday February 20, now available on ITVX. It’s been one of Emmerdale’s deadliest weeks of all time, with a fourth death now confirmed after the limo crash into an icy lake. As well as three losses of life in the disaster, a dead body has also been spotted in the watery depths, so far only by Amy Barton (Natalie Ann Jamieson).
This takes the body toll up to four, with Thursday’s episode seeing another one bite the dust. To preserve the twist, Metro is opting not to name the final casualty for those who might have stumbled in here looking for the big spoiler before watching the episode.
You rogues, you!. However, what we can reveal about the episode is that it’s an hour of pretty exhausting drama involving a lot of grief and tears from both the characters and most likely you as well. Those still at risk are Amy herself, after she flatlined while convulsing. We last saw doctors racing to save her and Kerry Wyatt (Laura Norton) and Matty Barton (Ash Palmisciano) are praying with all their might that they succeed.
Amy had spent a significant time in the ice cold water and has been suffering with hypothermia. Kerry and Matty had cautiously assumed she was stablised but this is clearly not the case. Elsewhere, things remain edgy for Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) – she is desperate for news on Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson).
He suffered a head injury and has been unconscious since, with doctors working hard to try and stem a bleed on his brain. And while Charity (Emma Atkins) wants answers over what happened to collapsed son Noah (Jack Downham), he may not be out of the woods either.
With his fate up in the air, Charity gets the name of someone who could be the one to have put Noah in this state. The tragedy deepens and another life is lost. But who will be joining Suzy, Leyla and the so far unidentified body in the great Emmerdale village in the sky?.
